The Adventures of Bali and Gili Islands

I am so sorry I have not been able to update everyone in a while, things have been quite hectic with school and traveling, but I am beyond excited to share this next experience with you. For fall/Easter break here, a few friends and I decided to travel to south-east Asia, where we would begin our adventure in Kuta, the main city in Bali. When we first arrived in Kuta, it was quite the interesting experience; loose and very scary looking dogs everyone, as well as the black market! I do admit that as interesting as Kuta was, it was not one of my favourite places within this experience. However, in Kuta we did one of the most amazing things I have ever done; white water rafting in the forbidden forest! The pictures of the forbidden forest are just above! Throughout the forbidden forest, our white water rafting instructor took us to some of the waterfalls and lookout points, once again just breathtaking!

For the next part of our trip, we headed of to Ubud, a smaller area within Bali. In Ubud, we rented motorbikes and decided to scooter over to each of the temples. Here are some of the pictures of the temple, and the villa that we each stayed in.

For the last three days of our trip, we headed off to Gili Islands, one of 3 islands just off the coast. This was one of the prettiest places I have ever seen. We rented a house for 3 days, which was absolutely beautiful. The island was very small, and was one of the only places in the world where absolutely no motor transport can be found on the island, everything is carried by horses. The first night we were in Gili, we went to a local bar to celebrate the royal wedding by participating in a royal wedding drinking game which was great fun with great company. Other than exploring the island, we rented a boat for the day and decided to go diving in the coral reefs - just beautiful!

In just 3 weeks I will be done with exams, hopefully...and off to New Zealand to carry out one last adventure before heading home. I cannot wait to see everyone, and look forward to catching up with you! miss you all so much.

'WTF' Themed Tommy River Cruise

Hi Everyone,

Sorry I have not been updating my blog lately, I have had so much school work I have been in hibernation for a little while. Just last week our residence did a 'WTF' themed river cruise, where all the students got to cruise the ocean during the night, while dancing and drinking. One of the most amazing and beautiful things I have ever received the opportunity to see and do, and also a ton of fun! Here are some of the costumes that people wore that night. A friend and I did "Where's Waldo"; but apparently in Australia its actually "Where's Wally". To say the least, there were some very exciting costumes of the night! For the last month, I have just been doing school work, going to the beach, and enjoying the environment while in Australia. For fall break here, April 24th, a bunch of us will be heading over the BALI for a week, which is beyond exciting! I will be sure to keep everyone posted on our adventures and experiencing while there. Love and miss everyone, cannot wait to see all of you very soon! xo

Formal Night at Tommy, & the After Party :)

Our college at UWA had their first formal dinner of the first semester, and everyone looked absolutely amazing. The night started off with a cocktail party, where everyone enjoyed wine & beer while mingling among friends. Following the cocktail party was the magnificent dinner. Here are just a few pictures of the formal, and some of our nights out!

Boat Cruise, Swimming with Dolphins & meeting the locals!

This weekend a group of us decided it would be a fabulous idea to rent a boat for the day and explore Mandurah on our own time. The boat cruise was amazing, we got to drive it around the bay and see all the dolphins up close and personal! I was beyond excited :) During the day we decided to stop and explore one of the random areas in the middle of no where! Nonetheless, still absolutely stunning! While we were exploring the island, we met a group of locals that were enjoying wine and beer on their boat. They were showing us how to catch these huge crabs in the water, and I was just amazed. Everyone is Australia is so friendly and sweet, they have invited us over for dinner to teach us how to cook the crabs from scratch. They also had this tiny puppy that just slept in my arms, reminded me of cooper! The rest of the week was just relaxing, as believe it or not school has officially started! :( I would love to live here, this is by far one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. Missing Everyone back home xx

us checking out the festivals :)

This weekend has been an absolutely amazing weekend, with tons to do and see. Starting off the weekend, a few of us headed over to the out door theatre to see an Italian movie under the stars, the view was just breath taking! During the night we went into this little town called Subiaco and headed over to the cafe for a coffee date. This town was so cute, with so many things to do and see. The bell tower was one of the most unique buildings I have ever seen, and the view as you went to the top was just amazing. We went to the demonstration, where one of the workers in the bell tower taught us how to ring the bells at the top, it looks so easy, but it was very very heavy! I think I was using every muscle in my body to not be lifted off the ground with the rope! As you went further to the top of the tower, there was an observation deck, and the view was beyond gorgeous! The more things I see in Perth, the more amazed I am every day. It is so beautiful here! To end off the afternoon we headed over to a festival just to check out the different types of australian drinks!

Kings Park, Fremanele, and the BEACH!

Today was such an eventful day, started off with a visit to Kings Park which had a beautiful view of Perth city (picture below), then we headed out to Fremantle, and then off to the beach! The view from kings park was absolutely stunning. Fremantle was an older town, and the buildings were just beautiful. My first time at the beach was so exciting, I want to go there daily while I am here. I hope to here from all of you soon. Love and miss you all xox

Kangaroos, Koala's and WOMBATS :) adventures in Perth!

Today was such an exciting adventure, as we got to meet all of the exciting animals within Perth getting up close and personal with the wombats, kangaroos and koala's. I loved the wombats, they were so cute and cuddly! We also got to see a chocolate factory in Perth with some of the most unique chocolate I have even seen, amazing! Once again another very hot day, hopefully its starts to cool down here soon :)

FINALLY in AUSTRALIA!

Hi Everyone,

So after 2 full days of flying I have finally arrived to the beautiful land of Australia. It is so hot here and humid here, such a change from all the snow we have had in Canada! I am still adjusting to the time change, but if I have been unable to get in touch with anyone I just wanted to say that I am missing everyone a lot and am very excited to share all my stories with you once I am back home. Here are some pictures of where I am staying and the river that my residence backs on to!
